The Armstrong County Arts Council, in partnership with Shiftworks Community + Public Arts and Downtown Kittanning, Inc., invites area artists, community leaders, business owners, educators, municipal officials, students, and anyone interested in public art to attend our Mural Arts Community Workshop & Information Session.
Tuesday, August 25, 2026

10th Street Station
301 10th Street, Ford City, PA
Nationally recognized Pittsburgh Creative Corps mural artist Max “GEMS” Gonzales will lead a hands-on workshop introducing participants to professional mural materials, water-based spray paint applications, and the “doodle grid” process used to transfer artwork onto large-scale walls.
We will also discuss future public art opportunities in Armstrong County and how local artists and community members can become involved.
The workshop is free, and no previous mural experience is necessary. Light refreshments will be provided.
This event was made possible through grant funding from the Armstrong County Community Foundation. We appreciate the Foundation’s continued investment in arts education and opportunities for our local artists.

The Armstrong County Arts Council’s inaugural Summer Art Gallery at Belmont brought local artists, families, and art enthusiasts together for a weekend celebrating creativity and community. The exhibition showcased regional artwork, encouraged artists to connect and collaborate, and featured a meaningful inmate art project created through a partnership with the Armstrong County Jail and Inside Out Ministries.

The Armstrong County Bell is Complete!
The Bells Across PA 250 public art project has reached an exciting milestone — “Echoes of Armstrong”, the Armstrong County bell, has been unveiled! This stunning public art installation is now complete and on full display at the Armstrong County Historical Society’s McCain House Museum, where it will stand as a lasting tribute to art, history, and community collaboration.
Celebrating Public Art in Armstrong County
In August, the Kittanning Public Library unveiled a brand-new public art installation—a creative, interactive piece designed to spark imagination and invite children to explore art in their own community. This project is a shining example of how art can transform public spaces and inspire all who visit.
The Armstrong County Arts Council applauds the library’s vision and dedication to bringing public art to life. Projects like this not only brighten our shared spaces, but also reflect the vibrant creativity found right here in Armstrong County. Covenant Center Art Show 2025
The Armstrong County Arts Council is pleased to present two new awards during the annual Covenant Center Art Show, held in conjunction with the Fort Armstrong Folk Festival.
