Connecting Artists

"We are incredibly grateful for the Arts Council and all the wonderful opportunities they are bringing to Armstrong County. We have experienced first-hand their passion for the growth and promotion of the Arts and connecting local artists with organizations who share the same passion. Thanks to the Arts Council, my son met other local artists who were very supportive and helped to boost his confidence. As a result of the connections made possible by the Arts Council, my son was invited to coordinate the fight music for a show created by local artists. The Arts Council is making it possible for the talent of our community to connect and be recognized, supported, and celebrated! It has been an honor working with them!"

“I’ve met so many fellow creatives, some whose work I’ve admired for years from afar, some whose work I didn’t know existed until I learned about them through the ACAC. Our rural working-class community has embraced the arts quietly for years, supporting local artists in large and small ways. Now, with the ACAC, we have a solid path where we can meet up, travel, learn, and grow together."

Art of Healing

"Art has the ability to catch your eye with its simplicity or its intricacy. It can evoke all kinds of emotions, transport your mind to a distant memory or inspire hope. Sometimes it’s for a fleeting moment as you walk by, and sometimes the image speaks deeply and remains with you. I believe the Art of Healing exhibit here at ACMH is a great idea. It’s a visual representation that ACMH is central to the community with people of all skills and talents coming together to support the health and wellbeing of their patients in whatever capacity they can. As an employee, I’m proud to have been doing my part on a professional level for the past 22 years and now sharing my art gives me the opportunity to give back to the community on another level.”

Art in Motion

"Recently I had the unique experience to witness what the Arts Council of Armstrong County provides for our area. I am amazed at the camaraderie and cooperation amongst all the participants in the recent Tapestry in Motion program put on by the Arts Council. Everyone involved was helpful, friendly and wanted to highlight the artists who were involved with the program. I had the opportunity to meet some of the board members and all were nice, fun and made the experience very positive. I am very impressed with this organization, and we are lucky to have them in Armstrong County, and would happily be involved in future projects with them!"

Creative Outlet

Soul-Healing

"Being a part of the Tapestry in Motion Ballet this year was soul-healing work. I had the opportunity to write a performance poem to open the ballet that tells my story and welcomes everyone else to my world, too, which is a place that is hard to get to from the outside. This project gave me the stairs. Art and community enable survival, friendship, and inspiration. I have grown from the connections I made thanks to this experience, and I'm looking forward to more collaborations in the future with other artists who share this passion."
