'Tapestry in Motion' ballet returns to Armstrong County

Ballet is free to attend and is to be 7 p.m. Jan. 11, 2025 at Armstrong High School in Kittanning.


The Armstrong County Arts Council is thrilled to announce the return of “Tapestry in Motion,” a stunning ballet performance led by Maria Caruso and her acclaimed Bodiography Contemporary Ballet company.This free event, suitable for audiences of all ages, will take place at 7 p.m. Jan. 11, 2025 at Armstrong High School in Kittanning, Pa.


Maria Caruso, a world-renowned choreographer and the artistic director of Maria Caruso’s Bodiography, will bring her unique vision back to her roots in Armstrong County.

Formerly of Rural Valley, PA, Caruso is celebrated for creating performances that weave together artistry, storytelling, and community engagement.


An enchanting evening of ballet and local talent


“Tapestry in Motion” will feature breathtaking vignettes performed by the professional dancers of Bodiography Contemporary Ballet, alongside a special appearance by their student dancers. The evening promises a vibrant celebration of movement and creativity, with local artistic talents integrated into the performance, reQecting Caruso’s commitment to community-centered art.


“This ballet is more than a performance; it’s a celebration of the vibrant artistic tapestry in Armstrong County,” said Executive Director of the Armstrong County Arts Council Donna Weckerly. “We’re honored once again to partner with Maria and her team to bring such an inspiring event to our community.”

While “Tapestry in Motion” is free to attend, donations are gratefully accepted at the door and through the Arts Council’s website.


All proceeds will directly support the Armstrong County Arts Council, enabling the organization to continue offering free artistic opportunities and programming to the community.
